Tests & Assessments

Sex Addiction Screening Test (SAST)

This is a free screening tool you can take whenever you're ready. It’s designed to help you see if your sexual behaviors might be showing signs of addiction or compulsivity. Please take the test only once, and make sure to save your results (you can print them or take a screenshot) so you can talk about them with your therapist. You can take a free test at: SSA.org

Partner Sexual Survey (PSS)

This assessment is for partners who have been hurt by betrayal. It helps you explore how your sexuality may have been affected by your spouse or partner’s actions. There is a small fee to take the assessment. We strongly recommend that you have a therapist who is trained in sex addiction work to help you go over your results and support your healing.

Sexual Dependence Inventory (SDI 4.0)

If a sexual addiction therapist believes you may be struggling with sex addiction, we recommend taking the SDI 4.0. It’s a detailed assessment that explores important areas such as addictive patterns, sexual avoidance, emotional consequences, relationship struggles, and attachment issues. The results can offer valuable insight to support your healing and recovery journey.

Inventory for Partner Attachment, Stress, & Trauma (IPAST)

Partners of sex addicts are often impacted in many deep and unexpected ways. While all partners may experience pain, the type and intensity of that pain can vary. The IPAST is a tool designed to better understand the partner’s experience and help identify where healing and support are most needed.

Post-Traumatic Stress Inventory – Revised (PTSI-R)

Trauma and addiction often go hand in hand—for both addicts and their partners. The PTSI-R is a helpful tool we use to better understand the impact of trauma and to support the healing process during recovery.

Money & Work Adaptive Styles Index (MAWASI)

If you’re struggling with money or work in a compulsive way, the MAWASI may help. It looks at how your past affects patterns like workaholism, overspending, under-earning, or over-giving. If these issues sound familiar, this tool can offer insight and help guide your therapy.
